Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry is celebrating a major milestone with her eldest son, who came out as lgbtq+ and revealed he now goes by a new specify during the latest episode of her Barely Famous podcast.
The 33-year-old reality celestial body invited her 15-year-old, whom she shares with ex Jo Rivera, to co-host Friday's episode and give an update on his life.
'It's very important to me because I feel like growing up on TV, it's hard to show who you really are when a camera is in front of you all the time,' the teen said. 'It's almost favor you have a TV face. It's harder to be yourself and to be more comfortable.'
He went on to explain that he changed his designate after no longer feeling connected to his birth name.
'I started going by Elliott because at some point, I wasn't happy with my first name,' he said. 'It just doesn't experience like me.'

Kailyn Lowry’s son Elliott is embracing his identity.
During an emotional conversation between the Teen Mom alum and her eldest son—who previously went by the name Isaac—the 15-year-old came out as gay and shared intuition into his perspective on living an authentic life.
"It's very essential to me,” Elliott said during a June 5 episode of Kailyn’s Barely Famous podcast. “I feel like growing up on TV, it's hard to display who you really are when a camera is in front of you all the period. It's almost like you contain a TV face. It's harder to be yourself and to be more comfortable.”
And while he added that coming out is not “necessary,” the teen made it clear that it was an important part of his own journey.
“I’m doing it for me," Elliott, whose dad is Jo Rivera, explained. "Let me have my moment. I'm really sick of people coming up with their own stories and putting things in their retain words and things coming out on other people's terms about me, because my life isn't entertainment for other people."

Kailyn Lowry and Jo Rivera are supporting son Elliot amid his personal chapter.
After the couple’s 15-year-old—who previously went byIsaac before deciding Elliot, his middle name, feels more like him—came out as gay during a two-part series on the Teen Mom alum’s Barely Famous podcast, Kailyn and Jo had a “good conversation.”
“He said that he listened to the episodes,” Kailyn explained toParade in an interview published June 18. “He was really proud of Elliott, and he said that he was happy.”

“He was perfectly satisfactory with the questions that were creature asked,” the 33-year-old explained of her son appearing on the podcast to tell his story. “He understands why Elliot wanted to do it.”
