As you realize I’m living in Gran Canaria and I would favor to write a little bit about how it has become, over the years, Europe’s favourite Gay destination.

Although the Balearic Islands received last year more than 10 million of tourists, Gran Canaria is one of the most touristic islands. We are really fortunate because we possess literally all year high season. The Balearic Island normally use to own high season from April till (more or less) October. I just wish to let you know of this statistic because some people think that the Canary Islands are belonging to Africa. I realize it’s really weird but it’s true!

Gran Canaria and Maspalomas

Gran Canaria is one of the most significant LGBTQ destinations in the world. Beaches, relaxation, nightlife and a great climate every day of the year, all with a remove epicentre: Maspalomas, an area with loads of exclusive accommodation for the LGBTQ community. 

But Gran Canaria’s offer isn’t just limited to hotels and resorts. The Yumbo Centrum is also a must-visit. It’s the first shopping centre in the world devoted to gays and lesbians and has more than 200 gay-friendly establishments.

If you want to like the beach, Maspalomas is the place for you. With almost three kilometres of golden sand dunes, this stunning beach is also home to one of the largest meeting points for theLGBTQ community in the area around beach bar number seven, with a fantastic atmosphere for some fun next to the sea.
