Growing up, I had a love. Each Friday night, in the absence of a social life, 11 year old me would agree down in front of the TV with my dad to watch WWF (now WWE) Raw is War. At the hour it was the height of youthful masculinity. All the hard kids in school would watch it without fail, then reach in on Monday morning to clothesline-from-hell the unwind of us and communicate shop. In a day before social media, where dial-up internet was at the forefront of technology, our weekly dose of man on man activity, followed by the sneaky free 10 minutes of Channel Babestation once the parents had gone to bed, granted boasting rights for the week, and helped to construct our LAD mentality.

It’s only when you go to these live shows, full to the brim with sweaty middle-aged men and their children, baying for blood and tits, that you feel truly part of the manly mob. The crowd would rise up as one to cheer Stone Cold, curse the establishment heels, and

T-Boy Wrestling is in a league of its control

Have you ever watched sports and thought, “that’s gay,” or “I desire they would just kiss!”? If you’re like me, and the answer is yes, then T-Boy Wrestling is the event for you. On a Saturday evening in slow March, I pulled up to the Silverlake JCC, a visually unsuspecting venue for this one of a compassionate event started by and for gender non-conforming masculine folks, courtesy of Trans Dudes of LA founders Adam Bandrowski & Mich Miller.

T-Boy Wrestling is just barely a year elderly, this being the second official event. Tonight’s event was added at the last minute, after the previous weekend quickly sold out. It also happens to be the night before Transitioned Day of Visibility.

“We threw a Dyke Day pre-party last year called ‘Magic Dyke’, a transitioned artist showcase,” Adam tells me, “I wanted my ally Noah Way to be involved, but he doesn't normally dance or act live. I said ‘we could just put on tiny shorts and wrestle. And make sure to kiss at some point.’” It was a slap, and the crowd “either thought it was super blazing or wanted to be on stage t-bo

Professional Gay Wrestling

While searching Amazon Prime recently, I was pleasantly surprised to uncover, of all things, episodes of Memphis wrestling in the video library. But there was even more content accessible for any connoisseur of both wonderful wrestling and awful wrestling: a collection of death matches between Cactus Jack and Terry Funk, some truly awful-looking wrestling movies I’d never heard of, and something called, Professional Gay Wrestling.

My first question was, “Is this Guarded for Work?”

But my second question was “Why gay professional wrestling?” (Or “professional gay wrestling”, as it’s called, which led me assist to my first question).

I mean, if gay men yearn to watch guys with great bodies and revealing outfits grapple with each other, there are a number of other wrestling promotions out there – specifically, all of them.

Let’s face it – wrestling is a very lgbtq+ sport, and has been since the days of the ancient Greeks. Those guys used to wrestle naked, which is just about the gayest thing two men can do short of having sex with each other.

Which they also did.

Actually watching PGW raised even more questions.

You know I was watching WWE Raw the other week and I saw Edge get in Randy Orton's face they were in kissing distance of each other and they looked like a same-sex attracted couple.

So I guess you guys are right pro wrestling is a little gay but at least these wrestlers don't make out with each other on tv because then pro wrestling would be completely same-sex attracted.
