Star Jones‘s ex-husband, Al Reynolds, says that while people launch out that he’s bisexual a scant years ago, when he began a relationship with her, he made sure he was accessible and honest about his sexuality from the start — and she was just fine with it.

During a conversation on ASAP: Another Shawn Allen Podcast, Reynolds answered some questions about his time with Actor Jones that he hasn’t tackled before publicly. He cleared the air.

“Anybody who knows my ex-wife, I was not the first multi-attracted man that she was involved with okay? [laughs]. The guy that she was engaged with before she met me was a bisexual man,” he said. “He came out shortly after she got married as gay so I’m not the first bisexual dude that she was involved with.”

“Some women like it. There are tons of bisexual men, there are tons of gay men that also nurture heterosexual relationships with women,” he added. “Wasn’t the first, not gonna be the last. So that’s where that is with that.”

On an episode of Fox Soul’s Tea-G-I-F, with Claudia Jordan and comedian Lunell, the topic of transgender people disclosing to their partners came up. Reynolds, who is not transgender, came out as bisexual in 2017, believes that a trans person’s decision to disclose is “deeply complex and very personal.” 

The conversation took a turn about Reynolds’ personal life and his sexuality. He revealed that he’s always been honest about who he is and truthful with all of his partners. “Oh my goodness, I have never been not truthful with anybody that I’ve dated,” he said. Lunell then asked, “So Stae knew she married a gay man?” 

Reynolds continued, “I’ve talked about this on this platform before. I have always been very sincere with all of my partners about my sexuality, all of them. At the time that I dated them, I’ve been very open and honest about my sexuality.”

Al Reynolds is so much more than the ex-husband of former ‘The View’ host Celestial body Jones.

The Virginia native is an accomplished business professional, college professor, TV host and advocate for the LBGTQ-plus community. 

However, those other accolades and traits often get lost or mentioned secondarily to his highly-publicized and often criticized four-year union with Jones that ended in divorce in 2008.

Just recently, Reynolds establish himself going viral about the marriage and his sexuality on FOX Soul’s "TEA-G-I-F," which he formally co-hosted. The show was recently canceled due to reports of behind-the-scenes incidents involving hosts.

Star Jones' ex-husband Al Reynolds has arrive out as a bisexual man.

The Wall Street executive—who split from Jones after four years of marriage in 2008—opened up about his sexuality in an interview with Radar, saying,  "Today, I receive myself as a bisexual man."

He continued, "Ever since I have been in the public eye, people have been speculating on my sexuality. And 'speculating' is a thoughtful word for how it actually played out. With wrath and disdain, people have been calling me out as gay, closeted, a sham and even nastier, much nastier."

He went on to detail his childhood and how creature raised in a southern Baptist family from Virginia did not allow for any "introspection" as he says it was entirely "black and white, angels or sinners."

Reynolds explained, "As a jet man, that communication and the loathe and homophobia were multiplied to the nth degree. I saw no lane out that would resolve my personal feelings with my deeply held and ingrained religious beliefs."
